At Sarva Fine Arts, Anindita responsible for devising effective buisness & marketing strategies to attract new students, cultivating partnerships with local cultural organizations to expand the school's reach, managing sales pipelines and client relationships, and identifying opportunities for business expansion and revenue diversification. An esteemed Bharatanatyam performer and choreographer, holding the distinguished position of Head of Department and Senior Instructor. With a Master's degree in Bharatanatyam, earned with distinction, she brings academic excellence to her artistic pursuits Boasting an impressive portfolio of over 800 stage performances since her childhood, Mdm Anjali has also choreographed more than 1,000 pieces for artists worldwide. Her expertise extends to Nattuvangam and Carnatic vocals, making her a multifaceted talent in the realm of Indian classical arts.

​

Among her many accolades is the honor of performing in the esteemed presence of the late Dr. Abdul Kalam, former President of India. As an instructor for advanced learners, Mdm Anjali Karanth is renowned for her ability to impart both theoretical and practical knowledge with depth and clarity.

​

A devoted disciple and  collaborator of  Guru Shylu Winston, Mdm Anjali plays a pivotal role in evolving the art form to be accessible and enjoyable for a diverse age group. Her pedagogical innovations have made Bharatanatyam relatable to students as young as 3 and as seasoned as those above 70, truly democratizing the love for this classical dance form. In addition to her teaching and performance roles, she serves as the Co-editor of Bharatanatyam books authored by Guru Shylu Winston, contributing to the academic richness of this ancient art form.

A Maestro in Kathak and Educational Leadership

A distinguished Kathak performer, choreographer, and educator, serving as the Head of Department and Senior Instructor in Kathak at Sarva Fine Arts. With a decade-long career in the field, she brings a wealth of experience and artistic mastery to her role.

Gold Medalist, honored by the Governor of Uttar Pradesh for her academic excellence in the faculty of dance, Mdm Deepmala is a disciple of the esteemed Guru Dr. Kumkum Dhar. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Kathak from the Lucknow Gharana and a Master's degree in Performing Arts, underscoring her academic and artistic prowess.

​

An empaneled artist with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Mdm Deepmala has choreographed over 600 Kathak performances for a diverse range of students, from children to adults. Her pedagogical skills extend to training instructors, making her an invaluable asset to the educational community. Known for her versatility, she has graced numerous stages at government events, both in India and Singapore, earning her a reputation as a notable Kathak performer. Born into a lineage of musical excellence, Mdm Soujanya is the granddaughter of the renowned Telugu Carnatic singer, Shri Santosh Rao. A dedicated disciple and follower of Guru Shylu Winston, Mdm Soujanya specializes in advanced Carnatic vocals and keyboard. Her expertise extends to voice culture training, a specialization that enhances her pedagogical approach.

   

With a teaching style that transcends age barriers, she is an ardent educator for students ranging from toddlers to senior citizens. Her versatility is further showcased as a lead performer in numerous orchestras, concerts, and recordings across Singapore and India. Known for her mastery of high-pitch vocal styles, she brings a unique flair to the traditional art form.

In addition to her vocal prowess, Mdm Soujanya is also skilled in playing the Carnatic keyboard, offering instruction to students in this unique blend of traditional and modern music. His journey in sitar began under the tutelage of eminent masters, starting with Shri Gopi Mohan Bose, followed by Shri Shyamal Chatterjee, and culminating with the legendary Padmabhusan Pandit Debu Chowdhury of the Senia Jaipur Gharana. Upholding the sacred principles of ragas, Chandranath adheres to the traditional sitar style with seventeen frets and distinctive stroke patterns, a hallmark of the Senia Jaipur Gharana.

With a career spanning continents, Chandranath has captivated audiences across Asia and Europe with his mesmerizing performances. His artistry has graced the airwaves of All India Radio and television, where he has delivered 40 soul-stirring recitals, showcasing his mastery and depth of expression.

In addition to his illustrious performing career, Chandranath is deeply committed to nurturing the next generation of musical talents. Currently based in Singapore, he imparts his knowledge and expertise in sitar and Hindustani vocal to a diverse cohort of students, numbering over 80 from various nationalities. Madam Sucheta Bhattacharya is a distinguished Hindustani Vocal Guru, whose passion for classical music and dedication to nurturing talent have earned her widespread acclaim. Holding a Master's degree in Vocal Classical Music from Rabindra Bharati University, Ms. Sucheta's musical journey has been shaped by the guidance of illustrious mentors, notably Padma Bhushan Pandit Debu Chowdhury.

Throughout her career, Ms. Sucheta has graced prestigious platforms, including Akashvani in Kolkata and the Sangeet Natak Academy, where her soul-stirring performances captivated audiences from 1998 to 2000. Her artistry has been further enriched through collaborations and performances alongside stalwarts such as Pandit Birju Maharaj and Pandits Rajan and Sajan Mishra, both in Singapore and India.

Sucheta's prowess as a vocalist has been recognized through numerous accolades at the national level in India. Notably, she was honored with the 'Best Vocalist of the Year' title in 1996 for Hindustani Classical Music – Khayal at the prestigious AIR Music Competition. Her versatility and command over various genres, including Khayal, Ghazal, and Thumri, showcase the depth of her musical repertoire and artistic finesse.

Dr. Y Nishitha

Kuchipudi Instructor

Dr. Y Nishitha is a celebrated Kuchipudi dance exponent and a prominent artist in Singapore. With a deep mastery of Kuchipudi, she has dedicated her life to promoting this classical art form on an international scale through her performances and teaching. Beginning her journey at the tender age of five, Dr. Nishitha has graced numerous Telugu television shows with her talent and has trained young dancers for over 16 years.

Her exceptional contributions to the world of dance have earned her numerous prestigious accolades, including the Indian Achiever's Award, Global Achiever's Award, International Gold Star, Atmanirbhar Bharat, and Telangana's Biggest Brand Award. Her influence extends beyond Singapore, as she has represented Kuchipudi in cultural events across India, the USA, Mauritius, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Dubai, and more.

Dr. Nishitha's choreography is highly esteemed in Singapore, and she annually trains hundreds of students, nurturing the artistic talents of young children and inspiring adult learners to achieve their career aspirations and realize their dreams. Her commitment to the art form and her students makes her an invaluable member of the Sarva Fine Arts faculty.

Mr. Venkataraman Sivakumar

MOE Accredited Vocal & Violin Instructor at Sarva Fine Arts

With 17 years of enriching experience in Singapore and a lifelong passion for the violin, Mr. Venkataraman Sivakumar is a distinguished violinist and educator, currently serving as an MOE-accredited Vocal & Violin Instructor at Sarva Fine Arts.

Born into a family steeped in musical tradition, he began learning classical Indian violin at the tender age of four. His exceptional talent was recognized early on, earning him the title of Best Child Violinist twice by the Indian government.

​

Venkataraman holds a Diploma in Violin (Carnatic Music) from the Indian Technical Education for Arts. His expertise spans both the traditional Carnatic style and contemporary orchestral arrangements, where he skillfully transposes Western scores into Indian musical frameworks.

​

At Sarva Fine Arts, Mr. Venkataraman plays a pivotal role in nurturing the next generation of musicians. His teaching approach is deeply rooted in tradition yet tailored to meet the needs of modern learners.

​

A seasoned performer, Mr. Venkataraman regularly gives concerts across Singapore and has had the honor of accompanying leading artists in India. His versatility extends to playing in orchestras for film music, where his ability to bridge Western and Indian musical styles is highly regarded.

Ms. Surmitha

Junior Instructor, Kathak

Surmitha is a promising talent in the world of Kathak, guided by the expertise of Kathak HOD, Ms. Deepamala Sachan. Under the tutelage of her esteemed mentor, Surmitha is honing her skills in this classical dance form, immersing herself in the rich traditions and intricate movements that characterize Kathak.

​

​Recognized for her exceptional talent and dedication, Surmitha has been selected to assist Ms. Deepamala Sachan in teaching Kathak to beginner-level children. Her role as an assistant instructor allows her to not only share her knowledge but also gain valuable teaching experience under the guidance of her mentor.

​

​Surmitha's journey as a Kathak apprentice is marked by her innate ability to grasp complex movements and rhythms quickly. Her aptitude as a fast learner has earned her recognition within the Kathak community and the opportunity to play a significant role in passing on the art form to the next generation.

​

​As she continues her training and teaching journey, Surmitha remains committed to mastering the nuances of Kathak and sharing her passion for the art form with others. Branch Manager – Little India Branch

Ms. Aswini is a versatile Bharatanatyam and Carnatic Vocal instructor whose journey is deeply rooted in the rich heritage of Indian classical arts. Under the expert mentorship of Guru Shylu Winston and guidance of Mdm Anjali Karanth, she has cultivated a profound understanding of the nuances of Bharatanatyam and the complexities of Carnatic music, inspiring her students with a balanced approach of discipline and artistic expression.

​

As the Branch Manager for Sarva Fine Arts' Little India location, Ms. Aswini plays a pivotal role in ensuring operational efficiency and maintaining a nurturing environment for students. Currently training students in both the Little India and Yishun branches, her commitment extends beyond instruction to encompass the overall growth of her students, instilling in them a deep respect for the arts. She connects effortlessly with learners of all ages, from young children to adults. Her own daughter is a dedicated Bharatanatyam dancer, adding to her personal passion for this art form.

 

Aswini’s analytical skills, honed through her professional experience in operations, enable her to bring a methodical approach to teaching, enriching Sarva’s mission to provide high-quality arts education in Singapore.

Mr. Maathavan Kalaichelvan

Veena Instructor 

Maathavan Kalaichelvan enriches Sarva Fine Arts with his profound expertise in Veena and Carnatic vocal music, cultivated under the guidance of esteemed gurus in Singapore and Chennai. Starting his artistic journey with foundational training from Miruthangam Manuneethyvathy Muthusamy, Maathavan later pursued advanced mentorship from Guru SMT. Meenakshi Somasundaram at the Singapore Indian Fine Arts Society and continues to refine his skills under her tutelage in Chennai. His vocal training was further enhanced by Guru Shri Sinnathamby Padmalingam and Guru Shri T P Nishanth, both pillars of the Carnatic tradition.

​

As an instructor at Sarva Fine Arts, Maathavan brings a holistic teaching approach, combining technical mastery with a deep understanding of music's cultural roots. His background in social work and psychology allows him to connect authentically with his students, fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment. Beyond traditional instruction, Maathavan draws on his diverse performance experiences, from theatre to multiethnic ensembles, inspiring students at Sarva to explore music across genres and platforms. His commitment to nurturing each student’s potential aligns seamlessly with Sarva Fine Arts' vision of holistic arts education in Singapore.
